27th June : Missing Jetski Couple Are Found On Dry Land.
Two jetskiers were found safe and well after a major search operation on the West coast.
The man and woman went missing near Kid Island, Co Mayo, last night just before 10pm.
Initial reports said they may have been trying to get a closer look at the Solitaire, the world's largest pipelaying ship, which was due to start laying Shell's offshore gas pipeline today at Broadhaven Bay.
A spokesman for Malin Head Coastguard said that the incident ended at 11.29pm when the jetskiers were found on the mainland, east of Kid Island.
The alert was raised by the Garda and two fast rescue boats from the Navy ship, the LE Emer, the Ballyglass lifeboat and numerous ships in the area took part in the search.
Both jetskiers were well and unharmed, the spokesman said.

17th June : Papa John's Plan Pizza Delivery By Jetski.
By Simon Hayes

Papa John's Pizza is planning to make a splash by offering customers the chance to have their food delivered by jetski.
The popular pizza chain, which has a shop in Poplar, has become the first in the world to commission a delivery jet-ski to make deliveries to punters living close to waterways.
The "RapidPapa" includes a waterproofed hot-rack pizza holding area, a secure storage compartment for money and a satellite navigation system for finding waterside addresses.
The first production model was checked out by Papa John's founder John Schnatter on a recent visit to the UK.
The company is now applying to waterways for necessary permissions to trial the service at suitable UK stores, and if successful the pilot will be rolled out for all locations that could service a large numbers of apartments and houses via waterways, including those around Canary Wharf.

16th June : Man Will Sue Police Over Stolen Jet Ski.
Businessman Richard Smith, 58, says he will sue police who sold his stolen jet ski.
The £3,500 jet ski was stolen five years ago in Gloucester and it was only thanks to Mr Smith's own detective work it was located.
However, Gloucestershire police then impounded it – saying it was needed for evidence.
Then when Richard's friend went to collect it, the police demanded a storage fee of £1,200.
Father of four Richard refused to pay and the dispute continued until the police sold the jet ski to recover the costs they claim to have incurred by storing it.
Now Richard, who lives in Florida, said he has instructed an attorney in the US to begin legal action against the constabulary for the value of the jet ski – about £3,500.
He said:
"As far as I'm concerned the police owe me £3,500 for the value of the jet ski which they sold."
Richard had brought the jet ski to England while he was on a prolonged visit to his terminally ill father five years ago.
In July 2004 it was stolen from the garage where he was storing it at his sister's home in Tuffley.
On a visit to England three years later, Mr Smith called at a garage in Eastern Avenue, with his wife Cheryl and spotted a jet ski which he quickly recognised as his own.
He said: "An officer came and once I had proved to him that it was mine he told me it would have to go into police safe keeping.
I said I wanted to take it with me. But he said they would have to have it as evidence.
I was informed it would be returned to me as soon as the case was settled.
"A family member who acted as my agent after I went back to the States was advised many weeks later that it could be collected.
You can imagine my shock when I was told there was an outrageous fee to be paid in order to retrieve my own property.
Gloucestershire police say they were within their rights to sell the jet ski to recoup storage costs which had been charged at £12 a day since August 9 last year when they notified Mr Smith he could collect it.
A spokeswoman said:
"We are duty bound to check the rightful ownership of found stolen property before it can be returned"
"We must stress, however, that no charge was levied on Mr Smith during the period that his jet-ski was being retained for this purpose.
"On July 8 last year we received confirmation that he is, indeed, the rightful owner.
He nominated a local resident to collect it on his behalf and she contacted us on August 9.
"After some time she had not collected the jet ski and, concerned about the increasing bill, we made attempts to contact Mr Smith.
We were told he had nominated another person.
"We could have started billing Mr Smith once we had received confirmation it was his and he had been notified it was ready for him to collect but, as he was out of the country, extra time was allowed.
"A 27-year-old local man was arrested, on August 2, 2004, on suspicion of handling stolen property in connection with Mr Smith's jet-ski, but there was insufficient evidence for a charge to be brought."

16th June : Woman's Leg Broken In Plunge Jet-Ski Off Lee-on-the-Solent.
A jet-skier had to be taken to hospital with a broken leg after crashing into the sea off Lee-on-the-Solent.
The woman came off her jet-ski when she hit a wave off the shore at Lee-on-the-Solent.
Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service pulled her into their boat and gave her oxygen.
She was then taken to the shore where she was checked over by paramedics, before being taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital.
Audrey Pedersen, coastguard watch assistant, said: 'She was brought in shore very slowly so that she wasn't caused too much discomfort and then taken to hospital.'
It was later confirmed that the woman had broken her femur.
The coastguard received the call at 3.46pm and she was on the way to hospital by 4.20pm.
The rescue service also had to tow in two jet-skiers yesterday after they broke down.

Police have launched an appeal for information following the theft of the blue Kawasaki Ultra 250x from an address on Seaton Carew seafront.
The jet ski, which was on a trailer, was stolen between 5.30pm on Thursday, June 4, and 8.25am on Monday, June 8.
A number of dry suits worth approximately £1,000 were also stolen.
Detective Constable Louise Sproson of Hartlepool Police said:

8th June : Rafael Nadal Takes His Stunning Girlfriend For A Spin On A Jet Ski.
He's best known for being a dab hand on the tennis court.
But Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal proved he has some skills in the water too.
The 23-year-old sports star enjoyed a day of messing about on a jet ski with girlfriend Maria Francisca Perello in Majorca.
It is believed the silver and black Seadog was a gift for the tennis pro who celebrated his birthday on Wednesday.
Maria, 20, who is known as Xisca to her friends, stripped off to reveal her stunning figure in a brown bikini.
The pair then donned matching black life jackets before taking to the sea for an exhilarating high-speed ride.

Described by friends as an 'intelligent girl from a good family', Xisca is currently studying business in Majorca.
The couple have been dating for four years, but are usually eager to stay out of the public eye.
After going for a spin, the pair were joined by two male friends, who were keen to try out Rafael's new toy.
The champion tennis player indulged his pals with a ride around the bay on the back of his new toy.
Nadal could miss Wimbledon this year after withdrawing from next week's tournament at Queen's Club - seen as a warm-up to the main event - due to a persistent knee injury.

6th June : FZR WaveRunner Makes TV Debut!

Yamaha is pleased to announce that its flagship WaveRunner model, the phenomenal new FZR, made its television debut on channel 5’s The Gadget Show.

Aired on Monday 1st June, two of The Gadget Shows plucky presenters took to the water off the coast of Jersey for the finale of their Summer Special episode.
Filmed in the bay overlooked by St. Aubin and St. Helier, Jason Bradbury and Ortis Deley finished off the final part of the Summer Special show by pitching Yamahas stunning 1812cc Supercharged FZR WaveRunner against the competition.
After kitting themselves up, the presenters were then shown around the craft before setting off to familiarise themselves with the handling characteristics of their chosen PWC.
With film crews in place on the water and in the air, Jason and Ortis pulled the pin in a head to head race across the bay.
With the conditions providing a rough ride, the FZR clearly showed its sea-faring credentials as Jason Bradbury plainly had the confidence on the choppy water to pull clear of the competition and take a comfortable win.

4th June : Councillors' fears of jet ski accident.
Are bathers enjoying the June sunshine being put at risk by jet skiers in Carrick?
Councillors are to consider whether restrictions on personal watercraft need to be introduced.
Fine weather in recent days has seen locals take to the sea, raising fears of a fatal accident.
Concerns have been heightened by the build-up of sand on the beach next to Fisherman’s Quay, which has encouraged bathers to congregate at one of the Borough’s most popular locations for launching jet skis.
Addressing this week’s council meeting, Alderman David Hilditch MLA told colleagues:
“Fisherman’s Quay has become a recreational area and it is great to see it being used. We are not here to stop any activity, but we are going to need some management - people are driving their 4x4s onto the beach while there are kids there.”
Cllr Jim Brown pointed out that two slipways are in place at Fisherman’s Quay and suggested that the launching of jet skis could be restricted to the slipway on the Kilroot side of the pier - although this is currently blocked with boulders - and the Carrickfergus side reserved for bathers.
Town Clerk Alan Cardwell pointed out that jet skiers launching from Fisherman’s Quay could put themselves as well as bathers at risk, with the old coastal defences just below the surface of the water at certain tide levels.
He told members it is uncertain whether the local authority has the power to restrict the use of its coastal waters, but that he is in contact with council officers in North Down, where a speed limit of four knots is in place within one nautical mile of the shore, jet skis are banned from Ballyholme beach on the outskirts of Bangor and motor vehicles are not permitted on any beach.
Alderman Hilditch noted the use in some part of Europe of floating markers to outline areas of sea reserved for swimmers, with jet skiing and boating permitted elsewhere.
He urged officers not to “wash (their) hands” of the issue despite the uncertainty of the extent of council powers over the coastline.
