October : New Product From R&D
Performance. |
| Powershot
Adjustable Fuel Tuner
|

|
| R&D
Performance Products,
U.S.A.
is proud to announce a new addition to their product line.
|
| The
new R&D Powershot electronic fuel injection control unit and
tuning module has been a much anticipated product and a first in the
industry.
|
|
R&D
has been forging ahead with its four stroke development program, and
with this new product release, takes a radical step toward bringing
the concept of electronic fuel injection and engine management tuning
to the watercraft industry.
|
|
The
all new R&D Powershot fuel injection tuner will deliver increased
horsepower, acceleration, and stronger mid-range performance by
delivering a higher performing air to fuel ratio (A.F.R.) to the
engine.
|
|
Many
of today’s high performance fuel injected four stroke muscle craft
have a conservative A.F.R., which allows manufacturers to meet
C.A.R.B.’s O.E.M. emission standards and regulations.
|
|
R&D
Performance has tested, documented, and analyzed the O.E.M. fuel map,
or curve, on every current fuel injected four stroke watercraft.
|
|
The
pre-programmed and coded R&D Powershot fuel injection control
module safely alters the O.E.M. fuel map to a higher performing and
safer A.F.R. (richer). More
horsepower, greater acceleration and stronger mid-range are the result
when the proper A.F.R. is achieved and is tuned for optimum
performance.
|
|
The
R&D Powershot is pre-coded, pre-tuned, preset, and ready to
install easily in minutes with R&D’s comprehensive installation
and tuning instructions.
|
|
The
R&D Powershot is fully adjustable on the fly (with the engine
running, observed and tuned while riding), and will accommodate a wide
range of adjustability to properly performance tune the A.F.R. for any
combination of aftermarket parts, i.e. aftermarket supercharger
modifications, camshafts or valve train modifications, head
modifications, exhaust system modifications, and high compression
piston kits.
|
|
The
R&D Powershot will add horsepower, reliability, and adjustability
to any electronic fuel injected two or four stroke watercraft engine.
|
|
R&D
has a Powershot unit for virtually every watercraft application!
|
|
Available
for all two and four stroke fuel injected Sea-Doo, Yamaha and
Kawasaki
Watercraft. The R&D Powershot is a must have part on supercharged
Sea-Doo’s using Vortech
high boost compressor wheels, and
Kawasaki
15Fs with offshore kits!
|

October : Two
In Cyprus Court. |
| Two men charged
over the death of a British schoolgirl in a jetski accident will
appear in court in Cyprus.
|
| Hannah Sutton,
16, was killed when her boyfriend James Dudley, also 16, crashed into
her while they both rode jetskis at the resort of Pissouri in Cyprus
last summer. Hannah, from Alderley Edge, Cheshire, died from massive
head injuries.
|
| Christakis
Ioannou, 46, and Aristos Ioannou, 30, will appear at Limassol District
Court charged with allowing the youngsters to drive the jetskis
without a licence.
|
| Both teenagers
were under the age of 18, the minimum legal requirement to hire the
machines in Cyprus.
|
| It is alleged
that the Cypriot defendants did not check the youngsters were old
enough or get them to sign a form warning of the dangers and accepting
any responsibility for accidents.
|
| At the inquest
into Hannah's death, held in the UK in January, the coroner criticised
how the youngsters were able to hire the bikes and questioned why they
were given no instructions or safety advice.
|
| Both accused
have pleaded not guilty to the charge. The maximum sentence they face
is two years in jail and a £3,000 fine.
|
| James Dudley,
from Colwyn Bay, North Wales, was held in custody in Cyprus after the
accident on August 2 last year. He later admitted causing his
girlfriend's death due to negligence, and was fined £2,000.
|
| He was released
from custody in time to attend Hannah's funeral, where he placed a
single rose on her coffin.
|
| Hannah and
James met while both pupils at the private Rydal Penrhos school in
Colwyn Bay. The girl had just finished her GCSEs and was planning to
take A-levels at St John's middle school in Episkopi, Cyprus, where
her mother Lynne was a teacher at the British military base.

October : Tribute
to Family Loving Dad. |
| The last
request of a Flintshire dad, dying in his best friend’s arms after
being thrown from his jetski, was for his wife and children to know
how much he loved them.
|
| Chris Edwards,
49, of Bryn Road, Alltami, died after being thrown from his jetski off
Porth Ceiriad on Saturday afternoon.
|
| It is believed
a large wave knocked Chris from the jetski while he was out riding
with two friends, causing a serious injury to his head or neck.
|
| Floating in the
water in the arms of best friend Steve Jackson, he said: “I can’t
move mate. I’m going. Tell Gill and the kids how much I love
them.”
|
| This week
Chris’ wife Gill, 50, and two children Jamie, 22, and Kirsty, 19,
said his final words were both “upsetting and comforting for us”
and paid tribute to the loving family man.
|
| Gill and Chris,
a technician at Holywell High School, were spending the weekend at
their caravan in Abersoch, where they regularly stayed with friends
and family.
|
| At about 4pm on
Saturday Gill was walking along the beach, while Chris, best friend
Steve, who is from Mynydd Isa, and another friend were out on their
jetskis.
|
| Chris was an
experienced and safety-conscious jetskier and the group had packed
flares.
|
| After the
accident Steve fired the flares and swam to check on Chris, before
making for the shore to raise the alarm on the beach.
|
| Gill, a
secretary at Hawarden High School, said: “I saw the flares go up and
then the lifeboat going past and I knew there were not many people on
the water.
|
| “I was about
to load everything into the Jeep when Chris’ friend arrived. He
could barely speak.
|
| “I went to
the lifeboat station and I thought Chris was in the ambulance. Then I
heard the helicopter and knew it wasn’t minor.”
|
| Paramedics
attempted to resuscitate Chris on the beach and in the North Wales Air
Ambulance helicopter on the way to Ysybyty Gwynedd, Bangor, where he
was later pronounced dead.
|
| Steve dutifully
passed his friend’s dying wish to Gill.
|
| She said:
“His final message is both comforting and upsetting.
|
| “Christopher
was a big family man who would do anything for us. He was so well
loved.
|
| “He loved
family life and couldn’t do enough for people.”
|
| His son, Jamie
added: “I haven’t just lost my dad. He was my best mate.”
|
| Chris was born
and raised in Penyffordd, attending Castell Alun in Hope and then
Buckley Elfed High School.
|
| He took an
apprenticeship at Airbus, then Hawker Siddeley, at Broughton and later
worked as civilian at RAF Sealand.
|
| He married Gill
in 1980 and they moved to their home in Alltami 18 years ago.
|
| Chris suffered
from the ear complaint tinnitus and had to retire from RAF Sealand. He
became a house husband before joining Holywell High School as a design
and technology technician.
|
| During his work
at Holywell High he helped pupils win numerous awards.
|
| His brother
Kevin said: “That’s the kind of person he was, he would help
anyone.
|
| “He lived
life to the full and enjoyed all sports, especially motor sports and
the jetski.”
|
| “Everything
Chris did was meticulous and he was very safety conscious. This is
partly why his early death has shocked us so much.”
|
| “He will be
solely missed by all of us, his family, his mother Kathleen and father
Frank.”
|
| “His family
was his life. It was his whole world,” he added.
|
| The funeral
will be held at noon on Friday at Hope Parish Church, where Chris and
Gill were married.
|
| The family have
asked that all donations be made to the RNLI in Abersoch, or the
Accident and Emergency Ward of Ysbyty Gwynedd.

October : Jetski
Accident Kills Police Officer. |
| TRIBUTES have
been paid to a policewoman who was killed in a watersports accident
while on holiday in Kenya.
|
| PC Sally
Roberts, 28, who was a member of the Crystal Palace Safer
Neighbourhood team, died in a jetski crash on September 30.
|
| The 28-year-old
had two sisters, Gill and Suzanne. They said: "Sally was a very
thoughtful and caring person, who will leave a big gap in our family.
She will be sorely missed."
|
| PC Roberts was
on holiday with her boyfriend Andrew Freeman in Mombassa. Her body was
brought back to the UK last weekend.
|
| Chairman of
Crystal Palace Community Association John Payne, who had been due to
meet with her yesterday said: "It came as a real shock. I was
looking forward to meeting her again this week. It really does take
the ground from under you.
|
| "She was
extremely friendly, a very pleasant young lady who was very committed
to her task. She was a real people person.
|
| "It's a
tragic loss for her family and the community that one so young has
been taken away. We can only give our heartfelt condolences to those
who knew and loved her."
|
| PC Roberts'
parents, Jackie and Gordon Roberts, flew out to Kenya with a Met
inspector when they heard about her death. The Foreign Office is also
staying in touch with the family.
|
| Colleagues have
remembered PC Roberts, including Sergeant Spence Ogilvie from the same
Safer Neighbourhood team who said her work in the community will be
continued.
|
| He said:
"The team has lost more than a colleague, colleagues come and go
but Sally was a friend, a member of the family, a friend I admired
enormously. The service didn't and wasn't going to change her, she did
this job for the right reasons, to help people and make the community
she served better, and she put her heart into it.
|
| "Sally was
the ultimate people's person. Sally's achievements were immeasurable.
She built strong community ties and gained the trust and respect of
the local community. She will be missed.
|
| "The team
are still very much in shock and slowly coming to terms with the
tragic events of last weekend. There were many community projects that
Sally was working on in the local community before she died and as a
lasting tribute we will ensure that these projects are completed in
her memory."
|
| PC Roberts'
team was the first ever Safer Neighbourhoods team to cover multiple
London boroughs including Bromley and Croydon.
|
| Croydon Borough
Commander Chief suptintendent Mark Gore said: "Sally was a well
respected and dedicated police officer. Her colleagues are deeply
shocked to learn of Sally's sudden death and our thoughts at this time
go out to her family and close friends."
