19th October : Jets Marivent Introduce New Craft at London Boatshow.
Sole UK and Eire distributor for Bombardier Recreational Products, Jets Marivent will be introducing several new products at this year’s show, including, the New SeaDoo® Challenger 180* Sports boat, new SeaDoo® RXT™, and the new Evinrude® E-TEC™ V6 outboards.
The SeaDoo® Challenger 180* sports boat will see its show debut at London. Combining impressive performance with a competitive price tag, the Challenger 180 is predicted to do well in the popular 18-foot recreational runabout category.
The Challenger 180 offers an open cockpit configuration and will be available with two engine options, the 185 HP supercharged 4-TEC™ or the intercooled 215 HP supercharged 4-TEC. Capable of carrying eight people, the Challenger* 180 is designed specifically for recreational boating and will be priced lower than the popular, high-performance Utopia™ 185.
London will also see the premier of the new 2005 Sea-Doo® RXT, the first three-passenger watercraft with over 200 HP.
Highly anticipated, the new RXT comes hot on the heels of the extremely popular 215 HP two-passenger Sea-Doo® RXP™. The RXT is powered by the cleaner intercooled 215HP supercharged Rotax® 4-TEC engine, making it one of the highest horsepower 3-passenger PWCs on the market. Exuding power and strength, the streamlined design characteristics of the RXT offer a look and performance unmatched by any three-passenger watercraft.
Jets Marivent are also displaying the new Evinrude® E-TEC outboards.
Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) has added three new horsepower options in the revolutionary Evinrude® E TEC™ family of outboard engines for the 2005 model year. A host of technology advances make these the potential market leaders for high powered outboard engines of the future .
This new family of Evinrude® E-TEC outboard engines feature V6 200, 225 and 250 hp and like their smaller 40 - 90 hp relatives are exceptionally well engineered engines presenting outstanding durability and reliability in extreme environments. They are extremely quiet and offer the lowest emission levels in the industry and providing low maintenance requirements.
Also expected to draw interest is the SeaDoo® 3D which now offers 5 spectacular riding positions. Launched earlier this year, the 3D received great acclaim due to its ability to offer multiple experiences. BRP have now taken this innovation one step further.
This entry-level PWC now boasts 5 distinctly different riding positions, to offer riders a unique and thrilling ride every time they hit the water.
In addition to the existing ‘Kart’, ‘Moto’ and ‘Vert’ positions, BRP have now created the ‘Shoq’ and ‘Knee’ positions, to offer yet another 2 dimensions to PWC riding.
The Sea-Doo® 3D utilises modularity to turn one watercraft into five distinctly different riding modes, each with its own handling characteristics and uniquely challenging experience.

10th October : World Finals Update.
Kawasaki’s Dauliach and MacClugage, Polaris’ Malone capture Pro
World Championships at 23rd IJSBA Dos Equis World Finals.

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz.—France’s Steven Dauliach in Pro Ski and USA’s Eric Malone in Pro Freestyle and Chris MacClugage in Pro Runabout 1200 captured the Pro Gold Medals during Sunday’s finale of the 23rd International Jet Sports Boating Association (IJSBA) Dos Equis World Finals of personal watercraft racing on Lake Havasu.
For Dauliach, who rode a Kawasaki watercraft, it was his second straight IJSBA Pro World Championship while Malone, who performed on a Polaris, claimed his fifth and MacClugage raced on a Kawasaki to earn his, his eighth crown. MacClugage is the only rider in the sport’s history who has won IJSBA Pro World Championships in four different classes.
lso winning Gold Medals Sunday in the final Pro-Am Classes of the eight-day event were: Thailand’s Chokuhit Molee (Pro-Am Runabout 800 Superstock-Sea-Doo), Janelle Barr, Renton, Wash. (Pro-Am Women Ski-Kawasaki) and Amy Green, Escondido, Calif. (Women Runabout-Yamaha).  It was the first IJSBA World Championship for both Molee and Green while Barr picked up her second straight.
Dauliach, who qualified first on Saturday in Pro Ski, was third in the first of three 7-lap motos and then won the final two on on the 1.6-mile course laid out in front of the Crazy Horse RV Resort and Campground to earn his championship. This was the first time a three-moto format was used in an IJSBA Pro race in the U.S.
“I like longer courses like this one, so it was great for me, especially running three motos,” said Dauliach, this year’s European Champion as well. “My dad was her and called home (France) and told my mom that I won. The second place rider from Japan (Masaharu Takanoshita) was very strong. This was the first time I have raced against him this year.  The course was really cool, like we run in Europe and the people of Lake Havasu make you feel at home, which helped give me an edge as well.”
Malone, Duncansville, Pa., maneuvered a Polaris to an amazing top qualifying score of 49.5 out of 50 possible points for his two-minute plus one wake trick finals set in Pro Freestyle. He was even more impressive in Saturday’s qualifying when he received a near-perfect 49.9 score, including a perfect 10 from five of the seven judges.
“I worked hard with the Polaris team this year, especially on testing and planning,” said Malone, who was second last year in this event. “Today’s results are due to all of that hard work, and I hope to come back next year with even more tricks. I just can’t tell you how good it feels to win my fifth IJSBA World Championship.
MacClugage, a Florida native who trains out of Baldwin Park, Calif., won the first two nine-lap motos and finished with a second place in moto 3 for his fourth world title in the last six years in Pro Runabout 1200.
“I never got off track (form) this year, although some people thought so,” said MacClugage, the second winningest Pro rider in IJSBA history with 120 individual race victories. “This is the first time I have raced three motos in the United States. I did a lot of training to prepare for it. I also raced in Europe where they use this format. It was also very important for me to have my family here, they have been so supportive of me for all these years I’ve been racing.”
Team USA, with seven world titles, won the IJSBA Nation’s Cup, awarded to the country whose riders record the best finishes in the world championship classes. Team USA,who won for the fifth straight year, earned 300 points. Second, with four world titles and 276 points, was Thailand while Canada was third, winning three crowns and earning 271 points.
In the battle of manufacturers, Kawasaki won 11 IJSBA World Championship crowns, followed by Sea-Doo with seven and Polaris and Yamaha with three each.
Over 1,200 entries from nearly 40 U.S. States and over 30 nations, the IJSBA Dos Equis World Finals competed in the premier pwc racing extravaganza in the world. IJSBA World Championship titles were decided in 22 closed-course racing classes as well as Pro Freestyle and Amateur Freestyle. IJSBA National Championships were decided in 12 Novice classes during the first three days of the event.
In Pro Ski, Japan’s Masaharu Takanoshita won the Silver Medal with 2-13-2 moto finishes on a Kawasaki while France’s Nicolas Rius won the Bronze Medal with 1-10-5 moto finishes.
In Pro Freestyle, second was Brazil’s Alessander Lenzi, the 2001 IJSBA Pro Freestyle World Champion, with a 48.7 score on a Yamaha while Japan’s Masao Fujisawa, last year’s world champion, was third with a 48.7 score on a Yamaha.
Dustin Farthing, Port Lucie, Fla., was second in Pro Runabout 1200 on a Kawasaki while Rius, who trains in Lake Havasu City, picked up his second bronze of the event with 3-4-3 moto finishes.
Molee won his Pro-Am Runabout 800 title with 1-2 finishes in a pair of six-lap motos. The Pro-Am classes used the traditional two-moto format.
In addition to the gold, Thailand also got the silver in Pro-Am Runabout 800SS from Phanom Khunjeng, who had 3-3 finishes on a Sea-Doo with third going to Eric Lagopoulos, Longboat Key, Fla., last year’s champion, who had 5-4 finishes on a Sea-Doo.
Barr earned her second straight Pro-Am Women Ski title with consistent 3-2 finishes in her six-lap motos. Second was Leanne Falvey, Seabrook Beach, N.H., with 4-3 finishes on a Kawasaki while third on another Kawasaki was France’s Audrey Dujardin.

8th October : World Finals Today.
It was another early start for the British contingent this morning as James
Bushell and Jordan Fielder continued in their quests for World Titles and Dan Ashcroft makes a grab for the Amatuer Freestyle Crown.

First on the line was James Bushell who was already up to his neck in drama. After surrendering his title chances yesterday in the Ltd class by a late arrival to the start grid, he was then DQ'd. The disqualification was put forward on the grounds that James was running a XP Di waterbox in a XP Ltd something which is allowed in Europe. After much to-ing and fro-ing the DQ was overturned and James' points were reinstated giving him a 3rd place overall.
Pro-Am Runabout 1200 Stock Moto 1
After suffering off the start line for the entire week things didn't change this morning as James Bushell had work to do from the green light. Crossing the start line 5th after the holeshot lap Bushell was pushing hard for 4th place. The splitter section has been working well for Bushell all week and on lap 2 the riders emerged side by side, unfortunately as Bushell was running the outside line he had to hang in the pumpwash for another lap before making his move a lap later.
Clear water now lay ahead to 2nd and 3rd places, who were immersed in their own battle and were startled when Bushell took advantage and split them up. Now up into 3rd place Bushell went STX-R hunting, who despite repeated attacks refused to capitulate. In the drag for the line Bushell was unsuccessful and was placed 3rd. However, for the first time this week the DQ drama worked in his favour and as 2nd place rider was eliminated he moved up to 2nd.
Pro-Am Ski Modified Moto1
Resplendent in a virginal white custom designed suit by Slippery and a fantastic Blowsion paintjob on his raceboat and helmet the scene was set for Jordan Fielder to start a fresh campaign for more World Titles.
Despite sitting on grid pole Fielders was uncharacteristically slow to react to the snap of elastic and emerged from the split section battling Chris Fischetti down into 3rd place
Quickly making up ground on Rob Flores, the temporary race leader, Jordan climbed all over him through the technical mid-section. Everyone knew the writing would be on the wall by the time they finished the splits and so it was with Jordan crossing the line with just his nose in front of Flores.
This was setting up to be a fantastic battle but as the two cleared the log jump Flores hopes died with his boat.
The crowd checked back to see how much of a lead Jordan had over second and they had to look a long way back down the course! From there the race was over, Fielder increased on his lead by an average of six seconds a lap and took a comfortable Maximum points from Moto 1.
Amateur Freestyle
For Daniel Ashcroft the step up to Amateur Class at the World Finals was made easier after competing at the last minute in the same class last year and finishing 8th. This year there was some big expectations placed on this young man's shoulders, however in the Amateur class you are never quite sure who will turn up as a wildcard and spoil the party.
After being allocated the sixth position ride off slot everyone watched as some average early performances were awarded surprisingly high scores. When Dan hit the water the crowds and supporters brought some atmosphere to the competition for the first time as he went through the routine on the water.
Unfortunately for Dan the snap and polish didn't quite appear to be there. His barrel rolls were far higher than anything that had gone before, but they weren't as high as we've seen them before. There were no major bobbles or mistakes and Dan rode well enough to take a temporary 2nd position behind Nac Florjancic, but with a huge field yet to ride  Dan's podium hopes were under threat. Considering some of the scoring for earlier riders many felt that Dan was scored harshly.
As the field played their part everyone looked forward to the ride of a young Japanese rider who had been throwing barrels higher than most of those in the Pro class can achieve. Unfortunately his ski died early in the routine and we were denied what would have been a fantastic battle.
As the final results were calculated Dan was eventually awarded 4th position, an improvement on last year but not something Dan was happy with. The World Title will surely come one day for such a talented young man.
Pro/AM Runabout 1200 Stock Moto 2
After his promotion to 2nd after Moto 1 the fingers were again crossed as James Bushell took to the water for the last chance of gaining a World Title on his Havasu debut.
Everyone prayed for just one good start off the line, but again James finished the holeshot lap in 6th. As has become customary throughout the week Bushell then picked off one rider a lap and so hauled his way up the leader board through the mid-pack positions. However, with a long track but few laps time is always against Bushell. On lap three the splitter section moved James up to 4th.
With a charge on Bushell moved up to 3rd position as the marshall waved the white flag but the distance to 1st and 2nd was just too great to be closed in one lap. Settling for a comfortable 3rd and a podium position Bushell thought he could relax, but no. Again drama reared her ugly head and this time our man was DQ'd for what he had believed was an OEM gasket being
1/16000th to thin. It looks like James'll have to wait another year for his title but he seems more determined than ever to get one.
Pro-Am Ski Modified Moto 2
Riding the world's only twin pipe 800SX-R Jordan Fielder needed a repeat performance of Moto 1 to romp home with another title. Despite a valiant attempt to outdrag the mighty manchild on the way to the holeshot, Robert Flores had to settle for 2nd as Jordan protected his inside line advantage. With clear water ahead Fielder made full use of his craft's incredible mid-range power and the race was over.
In customary fashion Fielder slashed and burned his way around the course building his unassailable lead with every lap. As the chequers dropped Fielder finished over 30 seconds ahead of the rest and headed up the pit lane satisfied that he'd claimed the UK their first World Title and the first part of his job for the week had been completed.
Today we move on to Act Two of the Jordan Fielder Show as he measures himself against the best in the World in Pro class Qualifying.
Also up to the line is Vicky Beale as she makes a start on the Pro-Am Womens ski class.

7th October : World Finals Today.
Jetman in association with Craig Barnett ( Jetskier and Personal Watercraft Magazine) brings you the latest from the 2004 IJSBA World Finals.

Once again Jetman is pleased to join forces with Craig to bring you the best UK coverage from Lake Havasu. Over to you Ed.
Expert Runabout 1200 Stock Qualifying
The pace of the race picks up today and first on the line was James Bushell in Expert Stock 1200 qualifying. When the elastic snapped though 'The Bushmaster' had his work cut out. Emerging from the holeshot lap with just two riders behind him he was languishing well behind the leaders.
The day however had started well and by setting a time just 0.4secs of a new World Record you could just tell the Hunstanton lad is in form and deserves the chance to dance in the main event.
After 3 laps Bushell was charging through the pack and running down the leaders. As two riders emerged from the outside split and into the dog-log lanes they were emersed in their own battle - Bushell took advantage and picked them both off in one sublime move.
Now lying fifth it took Bushell another lap and a half to catch the fourth placed man. The Kawasaki STX-R rider pulled off an aggressive blocking move - almost dismounting James aboard his Ronnie Sanders prepared Sea Doo XP but
within a couple more bouys he was run down.
With no time left to make up any more places fourth bought James a comfortable progression as the top seven qualify.
Pro/Am Ski Modified
With just one race to grab some water and your breath the UK again took to the track as the curtain raised for the start of 'The Jordan Fielder Show'. As an international gathering of fans roared him on Jordan blasted the opposition on the holeshot and crossed the start/finish line a full 6 seconds ahead of the rest of the field on his first lap.
However, rather than checking out and leaving the field to get on with it Jordan lost his way mid-way through the first lap. No problem for a guy with this much speed and class on his side though. Jordan simply dropped off the gas, let through the second place rider for the next three bouys, before once again leaving the rest of the field to get on with their own race.
As each pap unwound the young Nottingham rider increased his domination and lead. When you look at the experience of the riders in his Pro/Am heat you begin to understand how well this guy is riding. Well beaten were Chris 'The Flying Fish' Fischetti, Rob Flores, Ken Rees and Brazilian Lorenzo Solenski.
When the chequers dropped for second place Jordan was already making his way back up the pit lane. It leaves you wondering if this could be another World Title winning year for the Nottingham youngster.
Expert Runabout 1200 Limited - Moto 1
After a break for lunch the intensity rose as those who had qualified for the main event began duking it out for the World Titles. Despite the announcers on the tower running commentary on Ray Purkiss leading the Sport Superstock Class, nobody else had seen him! Ray if you are here come and let us know!
However, in the Expert Ltd Runabout class it was James Bushell who took the win to add to his Slalom victory. With just one Moto to go dare we start dreaming of our first World Title of 2004?
James's win was not without drama though. After a rough and tumble run to the holeshot with more rubbing going on than at a Soho cinema Bushell settled into his race. As the pack scrambled through the splitter section it looked like every man and his dog was snapping at his heels, intent of knocking him off and out.
Standing strong though our man consolidated his second position and set his sights on the leader. As the pair approached the split section James sensibly elected the calm water of the inside as the leader went out. With some tight heads-up riding James spat himself into the lead were he stayed for the remainder of the moto.
Expert Runabout 1200 Limited - Moto 2
The tension on the bank was tangible as the Expert Ltd Runabout class made their way to the line and the posse of fans craned their necks to spot Bushell who was dominating this class. But he was no-where to be seen.
Disaster was averted at the last minute as the holders and our rider appeared at the last possible moment.
His late arrival though meant sacrificing the all important No.1 grid position and he ended up way out wide. When the lights went green the pack was lost in a crowd of spray and everyone held their breath. Unfortunately some shenanigans on the way to the holeshot buoy left James trailing in 13th position and his title dreams appeared to be in tatters.
By the second lap Bushell began picking his way through and up into 11th and by the third lap up into 10th. James was making progress, but time was against him as Jamie Chainey checked out in the lead.
Each lap James picked up a position and by the end he finished in 7th position. Then the calculating began. By combining the scores for the slalom and both motos of racing. well we are still waiting for the results!!!
Apologies for leaving you hanging but we will post as soon as possible!
Elsewhere around the site the half-pipe saw action with BMX and skaters throwing some huge air and the mini-motoX track getting torn up.
Tomorrow sees Jordan Fielder and Dan Ashcroft on the water.

2nd October : Matrix200.com.
The MATRIX 200 was a concept watercraft developed by Factory Pipe in June of 2002.
Polaris agreed to let Factory Pipe take the concept MATRIX 200 to the 2003 dealer show in Las Vegas to gauge dealer interest. It was displayed and ridden at water demo site. The dealers were very excited to say the least.

As the year went by and Polaris carefully considered the idea of putting the MATRIX 200 into production, Factory Pipe continued to develop the fine tune (dyno and field) the MATRIX 200. In March of 2004 Polaris made a commitment to put the MATRIX 200 in production for 2005 in limited numbers (approximately) 700 units.
Now the MATIX 200 would have to go through extensive development and testing phases to meet production criteria. For the next several months it was full on with terrific progress. Several units were built for testing, and several for district sales manager rides and dealer shows. All the district sales managers (DSM) got to sit in the saddle and experience the ride and oh you should have seen the expressions on their faces when they got done riding. Next stop….. the Polaris 50th anniversary dealer show in Minneapolis. It attracted everybody’s attention at the Marine Zone. Finally Polaris was going to produce a true musclecraft to make others envious of.
On September 1st we all received the disappointing news that Polaris was exiting the Marine industry. Up until the day before the announcement came, It was an all out go for production on the MATRIX 200. A year and a half of hard work, development and testing…..gone. Now what!!!!
How could we stand back and let all that development and testing go to waste and let all the customers with high expectations never experience the thrill……………….WERE NOT…That’s why we founded MATRIX200.com

1st October : Seadoo 3D.
The first and only PWC to transform into five distinctly different
configurations for multiple experiences on the water.

The unique, revolutionary PWC from BRP™ (Bombardier Recreational Products), the SeaDoo® 3D now offers 5 spectacular riding positions.
Launched earlier this year, the 3D received great acclaim due to its ability to offer multiple-experiences. BRP have now taken this innovation one step forward.
The 3D now boasts 5 distinctly different riding positions, to offer riders a unique and thrilling ride every time they hit the water.
In addition to the existing ‘Kart’, ‘Moto’ and ‘Vert’ positions, BRP have now created the ‘Shoq’ and ‘Knee’ positions, to offer yet another 2 dimensions to PWC riding.
The Sea-Doo® 3D utilises modularity to turn one watercraft into five distinctly different riding modes. Each mode bears its own unique handling characteristics and provides its own uniquely challenging experience. When a rider wants a change of pace on the water, or riding conditions change during the day, he or she can simply switch modes to the desired experience or handling configuration.
The Sea-Doo 3D in SHOQ mode is a new way to experience a watercraft with the rider standing in a vertical position with the handlepole locked solidly in a fixed position by the SHOQ. The SHOQ is a three-position adjustable strut that attaches to the top of the hood and the bottom of the handlepole below the Triple Point Steering™. The SHOQ also incorporates a dampener to smooth out the chop. The Sea-Doo 3D in SHOQ mode allows the rider to stand vertically yet use the handlepole for leverage, gaining maximum handling performance.
The Sea-Doo 3D in KNEE mode is something entirely new to watercraft and evokes sensations of an engine-powered kneeboard. The KNEE mode allows the rider to manoeuvre the 3D from a crouched position on a specially molded knee tray inserted in the rider tray, supplying padding and a short pedestal for an aggressive ergonomic position. The Sea-Doo 3D in KNEE mode lowers the center of gravity similar to the KART mode while positioning the rider in a more upright stance. It is designed for maximum comfort and control for high-performance cornering.
The Sea-Doo® 3D in VERT mode offers the rider an athletic experience that is increasingly rewarding as effort is expended, but with a reasonable learning curve. In the VERT mode, the rider stands in a dynamic vertical position similar to surfing, wakeboarding, or skateboarding. The Sea-Doo® 3D in the VERT mode, offers a fairly stable platform with an experience that riders can enjoy quickly, while still offering an intense challenge before fully mastering the 3D.
The Sea-Doo 3D in MOTO mode brings a motorcycle experience to the water. The retractable switchblade seat unfolds from the handlepole and locks solidly into the rider tray. When the seat and handlepole are locked into MOTO mode, the 3D is transformed into a streetbike on the water in flat conditions or a motocross bike in chop.
The Sea-Doo® 3D in KART mode lowers the rider close to the water surface, giving the experience of driving a high-performance kart on the water. In the KART mode, a specially molded bucket seat is locked into the operator tray and the handlepole is locked down for an ultra-low center of gravity allowing superior cornering ability. The Sea-Doo 3D in KART mode offers an experience unlike any other PWC before it and is comparable to operating a performance car on the water. The characteristics of the KART mode garner tremendous confidence for the rider, as precise rail-like cornering is as easy as turning the handlebars.

1st October : Seadoo RXT.
Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) has announced the introduction of the new 2005 Sea-Doo RXT™, the first three-passenger watercraft with over 200 HP.

Highly anticipated, the new RXT™ comes hot on the heels of the extremely popular 215 HP two-passenger Sea-Doo RXP™.
The RXT is powered by the cleaner intercooled 215HP supercharged Rotax® 4-TEC™ engine, making it one of the highest horsepower 3-passenger PWCs on the market. Exuding power and strength, the streamlined design characteristics of the RXT offer a look and performance unmatched by any three-passenger watercraft.
"The 215 HP Sea•Doo RXT three-passenger watercraft has been highly anticipated since the very successful launch of the RXP in 2004," said Chris Dawson, Vice President, Marketing, BRP. "BRP has offered the most popular watercraft model for the past three years and the Sea-Doo RXT is poised to continue that trend in 2005" he added.
The Sea-Doo RXT, the latest entry in the Sea-Doo musclecraft segment, is powered by a cleaner intercooled 215 HP supercharged 4-TEC™ four-stroke engine. The intercooler efficiently and reliably cools the air compressed by the supercharger, further boosting the intake charge density. Simply put, intercooled supercharging is the best way to substantially increase horsepower and torque while avoiding turbo lag.
Other popular models of the 2005 lineup include: the Sea-Doo WAKE specifically designed for watersports towing, the luxury-loaded GTX† Limited, and the most popular watercraft of 2004, the 215HP two-passenger Sea-Doo RXP musclecraft.
The 2005 Sea-Doo watercraft lineup is the most impressive in the industry which BRP continues to strengthen with new product offerings loaded with technical innovations and cleaner engine technology.
