27th September : JAWS and Zapcat
This weekend, 27th & 28th September will see rounds 9 & 10 of Zap Cat racing come to Herne Bay. JAWS have been working with Canterbury Council for some time now and are pleased to announce that they will have sole responsibility for marshalling the perimeter area on behalf of the Council. JAWS would like to thank the council for this opportunity and in particular Matt Stickles and Garry Pauncefort for all the work they have done with the club since it formed in January 2003.
This event will be attracting both TV and newspaper coverage, and is therefore a terrific opportunity for the promotion of JAWS and the sport in general. JAWS will be making the most of this weekend extravaganza by displaying a stand to promote the club, and encourage the use of PWC’s within a safe environment.

If you are available at any time over this weekend, come and watch the racing and drop by the club stand.

22nd September : Freestyle National Tour Results
The Freestyle National Tour 2003 made it's final stop at Tyram Lakes, Doncaster at the weekend.
Some of the best performances of the year had the judges unable to split competitors resulting in a 1 minute run off for top place in the amateur competition. The result of this meant another run off for second place in the overall tour table.

With the days competitions out of the way, A Fountain competition sponsored by Vegetable PWC wear signaled the start of the festivities as everybody was invited to wind down at a party with fireworks to celebrate the end of the first years tour.

Thousands of people visited Tattershall Country Park over the weekend to witness a feast of Xtreme Watersport Action.

They were treated to demos and displays of all types of watercraft and watersports with World Champion Freestyler Eric Malone accompanied by Brad Lustic being the main attraction.

All aspects of the weekend came together Saturday night for Flash and Splash!

Live Music, Wake boarding, Barefooting, Power boats, Hov Pods, The Jet Board, Graham Hicks Celebrity Time Trial with Charlie Dale (Dennis from Coronation Street) and a firework and lights finale.

At the End of the weekend a very tired but happy Paul Hughes (the Events Organiser) had only one last thing to say. "The huge success of this weekend couldn't have been done without the support of my team and the fantastic response from the watersports community".

Watch This Space for news of future Xtreme Action Events.

2nd September : RNLI Chooses Yamaha

There are thousands of calls to the RNLI and a growing number of these are being handled by the RNLI lifeguards who were introduced during 2002 to work alongside the lifeboat crews.

The lifeguards deal with incidents, many of which take place close to heavily used beaches and inshore waters. The RNLI has identified that many of these incidents can best be dealt with, or even prevented, by their lifeguards with the help of strategically placed Rescue Water Craft (RWC).
Initial placement will be in the South and West of England. Craft will be based at Perranporth, Poole/Bournemouth and Newquay. The latter has six beaches separated by headlands, making this the largest area of operation.
Capable of operating in shallow water and surf, these craft can now go where traditional inshore craft would be unable to operate safely and at similar speeds. Continuous daily deployment during peak seasons, in areas where water safety cover is provided, will prove cost effective. Three relief RWC will be held in reserve.
Yamaha Motor (UK) are supplying the RNLI with ten Rescue Water Craft (RWC) adapted from standard Yamaha XL700 WaveRunner Personal Water Craft.
